Features

Everything you need to coach with AI.

A complete AI-powered toolkit built around how real coaches think and work — sport-specific from the first click, from individual athlete monitoring to AI-generated tactical insights and whole-squad recovery plans.

Sport-specific by design

Pick your sport. Everything adapts.

Choose one of 13 sports and PulseVault reshapes itself around it — the metrics you track, the positions (or strokes, or disciplines) you assign, and the fitness-test protocols you run. No football template with the labels swapped.

Sports science engine

Readiness you can defend, not a black box.

PulseVault's monitoring is built on published, peer-reviewed methods — and shows its working. Every number on the Readiness Board can be traced back to the formula behind it.

🚦

Readiness Board

A traffic-light board of your whole squad, fed by the devices they already wear — WHOOP recovery, Apple Watch sleep, Polar load, HRV baselines and monotony blended with transparent component weights. Tap any light to see exactly why it's green, amber, or red.

📈

EWMA ACWR

Acute:chronic workload ratio computed with exponentially weighted moving averages (Williams et al., 2017) — the method that superseded rolling averages for flagging load spikes before they become injuries.

❤️

HRV Baseline Monitoring

ln-rMSSD tracked as a 7-day rolling average against each athlete's own 28-day baseline, with smallest-worthwhile-change bands (Plews & Laursen, 2013). Deviations flag fatigue you can't see in training data alone.

📊

Foster Monotony & Strain

Weekly training monotony and strain per Foster's method — because it's not just how much load, but how it's distributed. Flat, repetitive weeks under high load are a classic overtraining pattern.

🧮

TRIMP & HR Zones

Training impulse via both Banister and Edwards methods, plus Karvonen heart-rate-reserve zones per athlete — so internal load is quantified the same way in every sport.

⏱️

Fitness-Test Protocols

Standardized per-sport tests — Yo-Yo IR1, 30-15 IFT, CMJ, FTP 20-min, CSS 400/200, 2k erg and more — with personal bests and progression charts. Each result derives its science metric (VO₂max, FTP power-to-weight, CMJ peak power) and an age/sex-aware rating.

📉

Trend Watch — early warnings

A least-squares trend engine that flags problems forming — falling HRV, climbing resting HR, sliding sleep, a load spike or grinding monotony — by comparing each athlete's recent window to their own baseline, then rolling the warnings up across the squad.

☀️

Wellness Check-ins (optional)

Athletes with a synced wearable report automatically — sleep, HRV and recovery arrive on their own. For everyone else there's an optional 60-second Hooper questionnaire from their phone, feeding the same team board and 7-day heatmap.

🔬

Science API

The same calculations — ACWR, TRIMP, HR zones, CSS, TSS, readiness — exposed as stateless /api/science endpoints for Academy and Enterprise API customers.

AI analysis

Advanced AI analysis, written up for you.

PulseVault runs its own AI models on its own servers in Falkenstein, Germany — doing the analysis enterprise clubs pay analysts for. It reads every session, load, and injury record and turns it into clear, professional reports you can act on or forward to staff. Six built-in analyses, each computed privately against your data. Nothing is sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, or any third party.

🤖

Squad Pulse

One-tap dashboard summary. Surfaces the four things you need to act on right now — fatigue spikes, injury risk, training gaps, top performers.

🎯

Return-to-Play Readiness

For any active injury: 0–100 readiness score, current phase, green/yellow/red flags, a 7-day progression plan, and three measurable benchmarks the athlete must hit to advance.

📋

14-Day Recovery Roadmap

Personalised day-by-day rehab plan: training type, intensity %, exercises, daily check criteria, red flags that mean STOP. Tied to the specific injury, body part, and athlete.

⚖️

Tactical Fit Profile

Compare 2+ athletes — AI suggests each one's best playing role, strength archetype, ideal tactical system, and roles to avoid. Backed by the actual metric data, not generic advice.

🏥

Squad Injury Risk

Pattern-matching across the injury log + recent training loads. Flags athletes at elevated risk, common injury vectors, and concrete prevention recommendations.

📊

Per-Metric Drill-Down

Click any metric on any report → trend chart, team ranking, athlete-specific recommendations. Works on training load, distance, HR variability, sprint count, sleep, RPE.

Ask AI

And for everything in between — just ask.

Between full reports, a chat assistant sits in the corner of your dashboard for instant answers. It reads your athletes, sessions, injuries, and programs and replies on the spot — grounded only in your own data, never invented.

💬

"Who has an active injury right now?"

📈

"Which athlete has the highest training load this week?"

😴

"Whose recovery is trending down — should I rest anyone?"

Devices & data

Get data in without manual entry.

Connect the gear your athletes already use. PulseVault meets them where they are.

🔗

Polar AccessLink Sync

One-click OAuth flow. Athletes authorise once from their Polar Flow account; PulseVault imports every completed session — HR, distance, training load, calories, HR-zone time — automatically. Per-athlete or bulk sync, deduplicated by Polar's session ID.

Connect (almost) any wearable

Beyond Polar, Strava, WHOOP, Oura and Apple, a generic OAuth2 layer speaks Fitbit, Withings, Wahoo, COROS, Suunto and Google Fit — each mapping activities and recovery (sleep, HRV, resting HR) into the same readiness engine. Any watch that exports .tcx/.gpx/.fit works even without an account link.

🚦

Sync Health & keep-alive

A traffic-light view of every connection's freshness and token status (ok / expiring / expired), ordered worst-first — so a silently broken sync surfaces instead of quietly starving readiness. A background pass refreshes expiring tokens so connections don't drop on their own.

❤️

Live Heart Rate (Web Bluetooth)

Pair any standard BLE HR strap straight from the browser — Polar H10, OH1, Verity Sense, Wahoo Tickr, Garmin HRM. Live BPM trace, battery, sample counter. Computes avg/max/min plus HRV (RMSSD). Save as session with one click. On iPhone/iPad, or with no strap to hand, log readings manually from any watch. Live HR on iPhone & Apple Watch →

📥

Unified Import (multi-file)

One drop-zone for everything. Drag in multiple files at once — Excel, CSV, GPX, PulseVault databases, or JSON. PulseVault detects each type, reads it automatically, and previews every session before you save. New athletes are created from their codes on the fly.

🧩

Customizable Dashboard

Build your own dashboard from a catalogue of 29 widgets — stat tiles, metric trends, recent sessions, top athletes, injury watch, gear mileage, readiness score, AI insight and more. Drag widgets anywhere on a fixed 6-wide grid that grows downward as you add, resize from 1×1 to 4×4, saved across devices.

🤖

AskAI over all your data

Ask in plain language: "who has the highest average HRV?", "is any gear due for replacement?", "summarise this week". The assistant reasons over your full picture — per-metric averages and ranges, sessions, injuries, gear, and goals. Athletes are only ever referenced by anonymous code; names never reach the model.

📬

Scheduled Reports

Have a summary or full report delivered automatically — daily or weekly, at the hour you choose. Configurable per account, capped at most once per day.

💾

Database Backup & Load

Export the entire database as a single file. Load it back any time, or fold it into the unified importer. Your data is yours — no lock-in.

Coach hub

Stay connected to your athletes.

Two-way coaching — not just a one-way data dashboard.

📅

Training Programs

Build periodised programs with focus areas (endurance, speed, recovery), week count, and per-athlete enrolment. Players see the plan in their own app and follow along.

💬

Direct Messaging

Per-athlete chat thread. Unread badges. Send a quick "how's the knee?" or share a video tip. Players reply from their own minimal app.

📢

Team Broadcasts

One announcement → posted to every athlete (or just one group). Practice cancellations, schedule changes, motivational notes. Players see them inline with regular messages.

🎯

Player Accounts (free)

Invite athletes by email. They get their own login with a minimal UI — their stats, training plan, and your chat thread. Players don't count against your athlete limit.

📷

Athlete Photos

Drag-and-drop photos onto athlete cards. Persisted in your encrypted database. Useful for quick recognition in large squads.

⚙️

Team & Org Management

Add/remove players, link them to specific athlete profiles. Track who's part of your organisation. One coach owns the org; players belong to it.

Analytics & reports

Every angle. Every drill-down.

Power Index 1–10

Composite athlete score blending training load, distance, consistency, max HR, and injury status. Normalised across the cohort so 10 is always your top performer. Updates live as data flows in.

Team Tactics & Setups

Formation analysis and opponent match prep, with position assignments scored from each athlete's actual data. Save multiple named line-ups per team, FIFA-style — a first XI, a high-press variant, an opponent plan — across seven formations, and switch between them in a click.

🏥

Anatomical Injury Log

Click body parts on a diagram to log injuries. Severity, status, return-to-play timeline. Recovery Gantt view shows overlapping injury windows across the squad.

📈

Analytics Page

Weekly team training load, sport distribution, age histograms, sessions-per-athlete leaderboard, distance vs sprints scatter. Group-coloured visualisations.

📄

Printable athlete & squad reports

One-tap, one-page report per athlete — vitals, readiness, 7-day early-warning trends, fitness-test science and ratings, injuries — that prints or saves to PDF cleanly. Squad reports compile every athlete in view into a single document, one per page.

🧪
